The Mathematics Guy Tutoring was created by founder Guy Constable for one reason: To fill the space in specialist mathematics education that TRULY improves student understanding and outcomes. Too many tutoring services today use models of learning that rely on students sitting in front of a computer or filling out worksheets. After working with thousands of teachers, Guy observed a clear pattern that many teachers weren’t confident in teaching mathematics, which led to a drop in student performance. The Mathematics Guy Tutoring (or TMG) is turning this around. Using a proven method developed through Guy’s existing business, Learning Through Doing, he and TMG tutors are delivering a hands-on, engaging approach that’s changing how students master mathematics.
The Mathematics Guy Tutoring focuses on giving primary school-aged students the fundamental skills and understanding they need to excel in maths. At TMG students learn communally through hands-on learning in five-week sprints (two per week = 10 total). The Sprints are conceptually sequenced to build on prior knowledge and develop children’s confidence to make mistakes and clarify their mathematical misconceptions. This is the same approach that has given LTD such incredible results in schools across the country.
Selecting the appropriate Sprint for your child is as simple as booking an initial consult with a TMG consultant or discussing learning needs with your child’s school teacher. TMG are always happy to complete further screening to ensure the right Sprint is selected to support your child’s mathematical learning journey.
